Frequently Asked Questions:
- Who is Odofoley Oquaye?
- Sardines was founded by CEO, Odofoley Oquaye in 2019. She is of Ghanaian descent, currently residing in Raleigh, NC. She has been working in the SaaS industry since 2013 with over 15 years of customer service experience. Currently, she's preparing to become one of Shaw University's 2019 graduating class majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is also the designated planner in her circle of friends when it comes to organizing trips. As an extensive and avid traveler, having traveled to over 100 cities and 10 countries, taking the stress out of travel logistics has become her passion!
- What's Up with the Name?
- In addition to the fish, Sardines takes its name after an outdoor game similar to hide and seek. Rather than have one person seek to find all the hiders scattered about, everyone plays a part in seeking out the one hider. Once you find the initial hider, you join that person to become a hider as well. By the time the last person locates you, your group resembles a pack of sardines. Since Sardines is connecting two groups who are trying to find one another, the name only makes sense.
- What Inspired you to Create Sardines?
- As the person who usually organizes trips for friends, it's projected that 100% of the time, the group who initially showed interest is not the same group who will attend. Time and time again, I've had to turn people away from joining us only to find out that those we held spots for could no longer come on the trip. Instead of having to cancel the trip altogether, I was forced to raised shared costs for the remaining travellers. There just had to be a better way. Sardines is addressing this issue head on.
