Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Why aren’t you using the glass waste to make new glass bottles?
First, we believe that when it makes environmental and economic sense, it is important to incorporate recycled glass (cullet) into the production of new containers. However, glass container manufacturing plants have significantly higher capital costs and required processing capacities in order to be profitable.
Alternative markets for recycled glass complement glass container manufacturing and can result in virtually zero glass waste ending up in landfill. Smaller industrial solutions such as ours allow for nimbler glass waste management, and directly benefit local markets thus reducing large transportation distances.
2. What do the field trials involve?
These trials will allow us to demonstrate ideal dose rates, product application method, verify performance, and measure soil quality (ongoing). After the trials, we will be able to complete commercial registration for the silicon fertilizer and secure letters of interest/agreements from future customers so that we can raise capital for the pilot plant. We will start trials in August/September 2021 to align with crop cycles. Rice, corn, and banana were selected for initial field trials due to the area of cultivation for each crop in the region, dietary importance, and prior trial success with silicon-based fertilizers.
3. When will I receive my reward?
Thank you for your support, it means a lot! We will be in touch at the end of the campaign to organize delivery of your reward (be sure to include your contact info). Please keep in mind the geographic restrictions on the following rewards- ‘El Picaflor’, ‘The Germinator’ and ‘Le Mécène'. Tangible rewards with be shipped after the campaign ends and should be received in July. For ‘El Patrocinador’ and other rewards that include public shout-outs, they will be added to our current Instastory schedule to be displayed throughout the campaign. For ‘Amigos de Lup’, we’ll display supporters on a designated page on our website and in our future plant (2022). And finally, for ‘Recycling Lovers Business Consultation’ that requires scheduling on our end, we will be in touch after the campaign. Consultation services will be scheduled within 6 months after the campaign ends (first purchased first served basis). We will keep you updated!
4. Do I have to pick a reward, or can I just donate?

5. Is my contribution tax-deductible?
No, only projects by registered charities or not-for profits (ex. 501(c)3 organizations in the United States) or those working with fiscal sponsors can offer tax-deductible pledges.
