Project Healthy Snacking

Our mission is to provide easy accessible healthy snacking alternatives to lower socioeconomic communities. There are a high amount of demographic and socioeconomic disparities in the healthiness of food choices. People with low socioeconomic status are more likely to have dietary profiles less consistent with nutritional recommendations, hence contributing to poor health. In fact, research shows that purchasing and consumption of unhealthy diets, in particular, eating fewer fruits and vegetables are strongly patterned by socioeconomic status.

Fruitastik Delivery is an Organic Fruit and Vegetable delivery service. We service underserved communities by providing them with fresh fruits and vegetable cups, bowls, platters and boxes. Our hope is to provide healthy snacking alternatives at affordable prices to people, while making it easily accessible and allowing them to not have to travel outside of their community. We are seeking funding to finance the cost of a new Fruit Truck/Food Truck that will allow us to cover more ground and enter into many more communities that are in need of healthy snacking alternatives.

Our team consists of me, my mother and my two children. Together we work diligently to outsource, prepare and distribute healthy, delicious and power packed fruit and vegetable cups, bowls, platters or boxes. I am a single mother who knows the importance of providing your family with healthy lifestyle options, and making sure they are getting the nourishment and vital supplements needed to survive in today’s culinary climate.
