Opportunity Knocks is a business dedicated to people in the Network Marketing industry which is growing daily. Our company mission is to grow a community of Network Marketers and bring them together as one no matter what companies they are with. The industry is so huge now, people come and people go so we want to solve a problem of the lack of support for some by providing a community where you can get help, support, network, make friends, collaborate, find local stall and events, attend opportunity fairs, and attend generic meetings and training days.
The idea of my business Opportunity Knocks came to me through the middle of the night in November 2017 after being in the Network Marketing industry myself for 4 years. Many many people around the world join the Network Marketing industry so they can work their very own businesses in their spare time, part time or full time. The industry provides people with the option to become entrepreneurs with little start up costs (if any) and tools provided such as websites and product starter kits. I have done my research and there is nothing like my website out there at the moment in the UK. There is definitely room for Opportunity Knocks.
So basically Opportunity Knocks is a website dedicated to the Network Marketing industry; but we are a website with a twist as we are all about the people and not the companies they are with. We believe people join people, we believe that everyone is individual and has something unique to offer so variety is key for Opportunity Knocks. As anyone can join this industry with or without experience or qualifications it's important to me to build a community where they will get full support from myself and from their fellow network marketers.
We have 5 phases planned and only 2 launched at the moment.
Phase 1: Networking Hub.
The networking hub is free to join and it's a forum where anyone in the network marketing industry can join. They can make their own profiles and follow other members. The hub has chat boards set up so they can get involved on them by commenting on threads already posted or by starting a new thread themselves. On their profiles their hub posts are saved so anyone looking at their profile can read their posts and instantly start networking with them by commenting on them. I wanted to provide a place that they can network away from the hustle and bustle of social media. It also gives potential network marketers the chance to join the hub, interact and ask questions.
Phase 2: Find A Sponsor.
I love this page. The Find A Sponsor page is a place where network marketers can advertise themselves and their opportunities. Instead of the usual information we see about the companies; here I've focused more on the sponsor. They state their name, location, company, start up costs, about them, why they joined their company and what they can offer as a sponsor. They pay to advertise on here and depending on their membership options they can have a call to action button, website link, social media links and a contact form linked directly to their email address. On this page variety is key! As I've mentioned people join people so the more the better. I want mums, dads, students, stay at home mums, stay at home dads, grandparents, single mums, single dads, people of all ages, people from a variety of locations and people of all religions. WE never know what the potential is looking for when they are browsing our sponsors. They could be looking for a fellow mum or dad. They could be looking for someone local to them, a similar age to them, the same religion as them or someone with the same hobbies as them. The reason why I feel so strongly about this is because I believe if they join someone they feel they can relate to and have something in common with then they are more likely to get along and build a professional friendship and relationship with them which will also make them working and building their businesses together more enjoyable.
Phase 3: Opportunity Fairs.
I am so excited about this phase as I eventually want to do opportunity fairs just like your normal job fairs! This gives our website members the chance to attend and have their very own stall so members of the public can attend, meet them face to face, see some products and network with our sponsors and hopefully find an opportunity for them! I will be starting these off myself locally this year all going well and I plan to have them running once a month in various locations throughout the UK with recruited Fair Coordinators hosting them.
Phase 4: Networking Meet Ups.
As we grow our members and audience I would love to launch networking meet ups / coffee mornings. This will help grow our community and give our members the chance to meet in person and make local connections/friendships with our other networkers. Potentials could also come along to get a feel of our community which I am passionate about growing here in the UK.
Phase 5: Network Marketing Training Events.
This one is going to be HUGE! This phase is last because it is definitely going to be the largest to plan and launch. Eventually I want to hold training events either once or twice a year. Here my members can attend for a day of training and learn from the very best in the network marketing industry. I have visions of holding these events in hotel conference rooms, providing amazing training but also making it an uplifting, motivating day of fun!
As you can see I have planned my business thoroughly. I know exactly what's coming, I know exactly what needs to be done. I have set the foundations and built the website all on my own so far. I have built a Facebook page with over 600 likes and an Instagram page with over 2000 followers. I have gone as far as I can go with my own funds, I now need a helping hand financially to take this business to the next level and keep it growing so we can tick off every phase we have planned. With the funding I will be improving my website with a web designer so members can join the Find A Sponsor page and advertise their businesses themselves by uploading and editing their own adverts. I will also be making an app for IOS and Android users as this would give the networking hub a better experience for the users and it would open us up to a whole new audience being found in app stores. I feel this will really build the community we are aiming for. I will be also using funding for marketing materials and to advertise the website using google ads, Facebook business page ads and advertise on other larger websites which are relevant to the industry and my target audience. I also would love to buy the .com domain address as I am starting the business here in the UK but would love to expand to the US when we see some success! I have planned out the funding if I reach my target for the next 6 months, this should get us up and running bringing in income to then carry on for the foreseeable.
My website has a small amount of members at the moment, I'm in contact with some and they can't wait to watch this community grow. I post network marketing tips and training on my blog page 3 times per week and send weekly newsletters so members get free tools and training from myself also as well as being part of a brand new community to the UK. I will always be involved in this business, website, blog, networking hub, opportunity fairs, networking meet ups and training events as I just love the industry and the people in it. This business is all about them.
At the moment I run this business on my own. I would love to build a team but without generating an income this isn't yet possible. I really do believe I have the opportunity to take this company global one step at a time with UK our first launch, US the second, Canada the third and go from there.
