Operation Rainbow by Bang Candy

Established in 2010, Bang Candy Company is a Nashville-based candy company specializing in delicious all natural handmade confections.  From the get-go we have always played an active part our community and see our links with local, business, artists and social programs as the key to our success.

By raising money to help create new products and improve our store facilities we will, in turn, be able to continue to support local artists and tradespeople and contribute to valuable, local youth programs.  We will also be able to continue employing local characters to work in our store and help them continue their own artistic pursuits.

Operation Rainbow is made up of 3 parts.

Our store is in need of improvements to help us work more efficiently and be even more entertaining for our customers.  By making the new store design a super fun interactive experience as well as a visual feast we hope to ensure the longevity of the business and the employment of the people who work there.

Meet the team behind the facelift:

Meghan Kelly: Meg, a consummate interior designer born and raised in Tennessee, will be spearheading this part of Operation Rainbow. Meg has great vision and is excited to work with all these talented folks as they bring her designs to life

Megan Wood:  Megan owns local business ‘I Saw The Sign’, a small creative agency that specializes in traditional hand painted signage & design.  She is a bad ass and will be creating signage all over the store

to convey the spirit of Bang to all our customers. Right now that message has to be delivered verbally to each and every person who comes in to the shop…So it will be hugely helpful not only to us but to all our customers and visitors.

Chet Jameson: A wonderful fellow from Columbia TN.  Moved to Nashville for music like so many others and also is a fine cabinet maker and carpenter. Chet is a good friend, excellent craftsman and will be carrying out the bulk of the work on the facelift.

In honor of the new look to our store we will be launching a new product; Rainbow Bark.  We will beavering away in the test kitchen to come up with a tasty new candy treat.  But we also want to give back to the community.

Right down the road from us lies the Oasis Center, A wonderful organization Helping Youth Grow, Thrive & Create Positive Change. They run a myriad of programs aimed to help youths in various stages from homelessness to college preparation. As operation rainbow is all about inclusion and community it’s only fitting that we donate 2%of the proceeds from rainbow bark to this well deserving charity.

Joe Ernst: Graphic Design for Rainbow Bark, Joe is a brilliant artist and designer who’s been living and working in Nashville for several years, I’ve worked with him on several projects and he never ceases to amaze! Cannot wait to see what magic he brings to Rainbow Bark.

As I’ve said before I adore collaborations and this roster of artists are a few of my favorites in town.

Customers will be able to choose a postcard that has been specially designed with Bang Candy in mind, write it to a friend and we’ll stick the stamp on and send it for them! Spreading the love!

• The first little chunk of change will go to the development and production of the rainbow bark, including graphic design, printing, packaging, ingredients and production.

• The next chunk with go to the shop redesign, sign-painting, carpentry, painting,

• And the last bit will go to the artists who design the postcards.

We believe that everyone should be re-numerated for their work.  In all these creative types of business we are all constantly bombarded by requests for free stuff and services and due to the giving nature of most of us we succumb to giving, but that is not fair. Artists and artisans have just as much right and reason to be paid as lawyers and doctors.  When was the last time your insurance company or doctor gave you a break? A life without medicine would be truly dreadful but so would a life without art and candy!
