Oka Ohoyo, LLC is an integrative health and wellness company providing healing services, cosmic rituals, and herbal medicine products for Indigenous/Aboriginal peoples in Detroit, MI. Our healing techniques and products are all rooted in ancient American "mound-builder" culture. 

Our Mission

My mission with Oka Ohoyo is to help aid Aboriginal Americans in their healing from a cultural, natural, and ancestral lens. 

The Problem

Oka Ohoyo, LLC vows to tackle 3 major problems the American Aboriginals have faced for decades:

1. Identity Crisis- The original definition of "American" according to the 1828 edition of Noah Webster's Dictionary, applies to the "copper colored races" founded here by Europeans.  Due to perpetual colonialism as well as paper genocide, incited by eugenicist Walter Plecker beginning in 1912, many American Indians were reclassified as "negro", "colored", "mongrel", "mulatto", etc. Many of today's "Blacks" and "African-Americans" are actually descendants of the original copper-colored mound builders who were the First Nations of America. Many "Blacks" and "African-Americans" have been lied to in colonial schools regarding their true identity, legacy, and history. However, many "Blacks"/"African-Americans" were told by elders in their families that they are in fact American Indian in addition to many of their cultural traditions reflecting that of the original mound builders.
2. Intergenerational Trauma & Stress- Intergenerational trauma is the notion that our traumas have the potential to pass down from generation to generation, especially if not acknowledged or healed. The American Indian people have dealt with over 600 yrs of intergenerational trauma that still perpetuates to this very day. We are a people who have faced genocide, ethnocide, the destruction of our communities, the stripping away of our culture and heritage, stolen land and identity, pharmaceutical witchcraft, eugenics, police terrorism, gentrification, rape, having our children taken from us, and so much more! We have been completely stripped away from our nature as a people.
3. Poor Health & Diet- In addition to an identity crisis and dealing with the weight of intergenerational trauma, our people have been removed from our original diet, health regiments, natural medicines, and our interconnection with nature. ALL of which contribute to our total health and wellbeing!

The Solution

1. To combat Identity Crisis, Oka Ohoyo, LLC has and will continue to create educational & cultural content on our blog, YouTube channel, and live lectures/workshops to restore the history and legacy of America's Original People who have been misnomered as "Black", "Negro", "African-American", etc. It is the truth and representation of our people that matters!
2. To combat Intergenerational Trauma & Stress, our company offers an array of services to assist in healing intergenerational trauma. We offer a Cosmic Life Coaching service that approaches life-coaching from an Amerindian cultural-historical perspective. We also offer an array of energy healing (Nanih Waiya Xi) services, energetic readings, and ritual work.
3. To combat Poor Health & Diet, our company will offer Indigenous/alkaline dieting consultations, herbal medicine consultations, and herbal medicine products all rooted in American Indian culture. In our Cosmic Life Coaching program, we promote ecotherapy and grounding with the Earth as a method of healing as well.
