Our mission is to save consumers time by matching them with the correct Companies that offer the exact Extensions they need for their next style. The days of jumping from site to site to compare and review prices and quality are coming to an end. With so many different brands to choose from, we wanted to bring them all to one platform. 

                             The WHY

 I've used Extensions since 2010. At that time buying Virgin Hair online was becoming more popular since the quality was much higher than hair from the local Beauty Supply store. Because consumers didn't have the advantage of physically touching the hair before purchasing, we relied heavily on YouTube reviews for Virgin Hair Companies only sold online. Since virgin hair is more expensive, and as a College student, I couldn't afford to waste money, I did a lot of research on each company. Therefore, it would take a few days for me to confidently choose a company to purchase from.  In 2013 (before the Amazon boom) while sitting Marketing Class, I got inspired by Kayack's "search one and done" business model. It made a lot of sense to take an action like purchasing a flight and presenting the corresponding prices to the customer instead of jumping from site to site. So I thought, why not have the same model for Hair Extensions. Pick your price, see written and video reviews all on one site.

 Most women know the next look they're going for. With our search capabilities, customers can view all of their purchase options.

               What Makes Us Different

You maybe thinking isn't this pretty much like Amazon and AliExpress? You're right, but what makes us different from both marketplaces is that our site was built for a specific customer in mind and not a one-stop-shop Marketplace. Amazon focuses on expedited shipping and AliExpress focuses on low prices. Both sites offer Hair Extensions but it's among hundreds of other items.

We offer free promotion for all companies on our marketplace, and represent each brand separately. Our platform is also more affordable and convenient for companies to join our marketplace;

             Goals & Your Contribution

Currently, we have 8 hair companies within our marketplace and we would like to add 100 companies by the end of the year. We would like to relaunch our site with at least 50 Companies this spring. In order to do so we need funds to help with site development, marketing and advertising.

We used My Marketplace Builder to help create our site. While we are proud of the work completed so far, the site is not yet at a level it could be in order to compete with other well-known marketplaces and retail sites.

Listed below are the improvements your contribution would help us correct on our site;

• Dashboard: We need to create two different dashboards for customers and hair companies. Currently there is only one design for both, which can cause confusion for customers.
• We would like to update each product listing page for a more modern appeal. 
• We would like for customers to be able to save/heart certain products.
• We would like Customers to be able to add pictures when leaving reviews.

We would also like to be able to pay YouTube influencers to promote the marketplace, hire a PR agency for proper exposure and create marketing material to go out to Hair Companies.

Having a Black Woman in a space that is dominated by Korean manufactures is very important. Black women make up more than 80% of the Hair Extension market, yet most of the industry are regulated by foreign wholesalers. My marketplace will be a key player in this industry and I plan to open more doors for black ownership to put our dollars back into our hands.
