It is reported that 40% of all music venue tickets go unsold each year. Most of those are at small and midsize venues like the ones MusicTown caters to. By offering Mystery Ticket we can help venues to sell their unused tickets and help our customers explore and grow the local music scene. A Mystery Ticket would be a same day ticket offered at a discount. The customer would pick the genre and the general area and would purchase the discounted ticket. After purchase they would find out what venue and band their ticket is for.
We have had a lot of positive feedback from the bands and venues that we have talked to and promoted since we began. With the Mystery Ticket launch we will be doing both social media and print media advertisements, and we will be putting printed materials in the bars that we are selling tickets for. We will need posters, table tents and fliers.
The risk would be that we would do all of this marketing and not get the users necessary to move forward. That seems unlikely as we have gotten over 1000 users in 10 months mostly from word of mouth. We need to begin to sell tickets to events in order to keep moving forward and expanding.
