Project Description

  • This organization aims to reduce negative behaviors among youth population through mentoring and offering music lessons, art lessons, and dance lessons to bring out distinct gifts and talents to promote positive outlook on life.
  • Be Set Free strives to improve feelings of insecurities pertaining to issues from poor self image.
  • Throughout the region and surrounding areas, teenagers battle with not liking what they see when they look in the mirror. Some issues which contribute to this factor are bullying and body shaming.

  • The staff members conduct individual as well as group mentoring to youth addressing self - esteem and peer pressure in society. Sessions to empower and encourage adolescents to be who they are and not allow anyone else to determine how they need to look in order to be liked by their peers are also facilitated. There are pampering sessions implemented to aid with facials, hairstyles, manicures, pedicures, buying clothes, and shoes.
  • Funding is needed to build a strong business and to make a major impact with services offered. If awarded funding, the agency will use money on youth who do not feel good about themselves by doing "make - overs" as a way to alleviate bad thoughts regarding how they see themselves.
