Love and Light Initiative Center™ is a top-quality mental health service facility, committed to creating safe havens for marginalized women who are experiencing the unfortunate ordeals of domestic violence, trauma, addiction and abuse, by providing a designated temporary living space, customized recovery programs, and shelter with unlimited resources.

As a safe haven for women deserving of supportive communities, Love and Light Initiative Center believes in providing a safe space for development, training, holistic, and spiritual healing for local and global communities.

Our Goal

Our goal is to provide a facility designated for women who are in need of a supportive community, and to provide healing to those who are experiencing challenging circumstances with nowhere to go, or anyone to turn to. One of our major, life-long goals is to be the breeding ground for the creation of jobs in industries including, but not limited to, healthcare, culinary arts, social work, and education.

Services Offered

Love and Light Initiative Center offers in-house Trauma Recovery with licensed mental health professionals. 

- Psychiatric and Physical Assessment
- Customized Recovery Plan designed based on individuals’ needs and goal(s)
- Personally assigned licensed mental health professionals to aid in recovery and healing journey
- Therapy sessions that may include art therapy, music therapy, talk therapy, and animal- assisted therapy. **Some licensed professionals may implement personalized plans based on their preferred framework.

Who We Serve

Love and Light Initiative Center serves women who are in need of a supportive community and safe haven. We service women of all ages, economic status, racial and ethnic backgrounds, and religions. Love and Light Initiative Center focuses its practice on revitalizing the lives of women who have experienced trauma in, but not limited to: emotional, mental, and physical abuse due to domestic violence, rape and/or neglect, and mental illness that may include, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post- traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, body dysmorphia, suicidal ideations and self-harm. 

Love and Light Initiative Center also serves to reduce recidivism among women in correlation to co-occurring mental illness, misdiagnosis and intervention by creating personalized programs, proper treatment, and evaluation. Within the communities that we serve, we seek to alleviate all mistreatment and social injustices that has limited life-saving tools and resources to women; this also includes victims of human trafficking, and their need for trauma-related care and treatment.

What is Love and Light Initiative Center?

Love and Light Initiative Center is a non-profit organization and safe haven facility for women who are experiencing trauma, domestic violence, addiction and abuse. 

Is this facility only for women?

Yes, this facility is only for women. In rare circumstances, children may stay with their mother upon entry into the program.

What is the length of the trauma recovery program?

The length of the program is individually customized based on the client’s severity, mental, and emotional state upon the time of assessment, and can vary by weeks or months.

How are potential clients assessed upon entry? 

Each person is assigned a licensed nurse, social worker, and licensed therapist. Clients are assessed based on their mental, physical, and emotional state, as well as their degree of safety concerns.

Do I have to pay to receive services as a client?

No, clients do not pay out of pocket for shelter or services received. We consider the insured and uninsured upon admission.

Is there an exit care plan upon completion of the program?

Yes, we do incorporate an exit care and discharge plan for all clients upon successful completion of the trauma recovery program. We take into consideration safety, relapse potential, and environmental conditions, to name a few. We also recommend our outpatient care services within our facility upon their exit and schedule a plan, if desired.

Opportunity

There is ample opportunity as Columbus, Ohio has not experienced a facility as described and we plan to be the first of its kind. The funding for this facility, Love and Light Initiative Center, will go towards acquiring a building for the safe haven community, as well renovations for shower/bathroom and kitchen installations, bedroom/living corridor room furniture, meditation room furniture, office furniture, and computers for the education rooms. 

Through these efforts, the creation of jobs will also be at the forefront of this endeavor; with that in mind, part of the funding will go towards hiring part- time and full- time employees that include, but not limited to the following: Licensed Professional Counselors, Social Workers, Administrative Team, Mental Health Nurses, Psychiatrist/Psychologist(s), Internship/Volunteer Team, Security/Night Team, Culinary Arts Staff.
