With a background in marketing and public relations, I have assisted my husband with his photography company for over 10 years. However, he has been in excruciating pain since having knee surgery in March 2019. We adopted two daughters a few years ago so we now have three school-aged children as well as my elderly Parents (my Dad has Parkinson’s) to care for.
Instead of going into fetal position, I decided to find a business that I could do on my own that would support our family and take care of my Parents. I was thrilled to finally come across information regarding property preservation. I’ve jumped in with every dime I could get my hands on and so far I have purchased a website, obtained an LLC and EIN Number, completed an online course in the subject, and obtained all applicable business insurances (General liability, professional liability and worker’s Compensation) and submitted applications with the national companies which provide the jobs to clean out foreclosed and other REO Property.
The market for this service is set to explode in the coming months as homes become available and require maintenance.
I am seeing finding to cover additional start up costs (purchase of a lawnmower, snowblowers and other equipment) as well as to hire subcontractors.
I once saw a sign that said, “Do it afraid. Just do it!!” With the onset of Covid, I’ve had to become resourceful and more tenacious in terms of finding new opportunities. I have three little sets of eyes watching me to see how I handle all of the stress/responsibilities that I have and I refuse to let them down.
My team consists of me and Jesus right now, but I am beginning to post ads to find subcontractors that can begin to work as soon as I land a contract.
Thank you in advance for any funding you’d be willing to provide for my company. God’s richest blessings be upon you and your family.
