A letter from Heather:
I started LVV In my home kitchen, serving families in our school community. It was the perfect way to spread my love of cooking and plant based food while I stayed at home with my little kids. Since then, I have been blessed to have been able to open a brick and mortar right across the street from my kids' school and in the middle of a community that I grew up in. It has been quite the wild ride and I have invested all of my savings, time, sweat and tears over the course of the last 4 years. I am so honored to have received grants from the city of Beaverton to improve our space! The city will pay for 75% of the project and after spending a couple of months coming up with the perfect arrangement with the architects from the city, I am so excited to get this project off the ground! I must raise an additional 25% to complete this project. Will you help this girl out?! The dream is to continue serving our community while improving space functionality, efficiency and beautification of La Vida Veggie. Thank you so much for your support and kindness!
Love and Blessings,
The Project FAQs
What is La Vida Veggie?
La Vida Veggie Is a vegan cafe restaurant that brings community and food together! It was started out of the kitchen of local woman, Heather Gibson, as a food delivery service for families. She opened a brick and mortar in 2014 and the business has been steadily growing ever since. Heather's mission is to connect her community through healthy, fresh food, community activities, local art shows and community out reach. Check out our social media for pictures and updates! Peace. Love. Kale.
What will this money be used for?
The city of Beaverton has generously named us winners of two design grants! One of them is for interior improvement and the other is for exterior improvement. Over the past couple of months we have been working with architects from the city to develop gorgeous new plans for a remodel on the inside and outside of our restaurant. When we apply for funding in September, the Grant's will only cover 75% of the cost of the project and therefore, we will need to fundraise the remaining amount to be able to complete our project. Please see the plans on our Instagram and Facebook and let us know what you think!
When will the project be completed?
The architectural plans are already complete. We will apply for the funding in September and the work will take place this Winter of 2018.
