Who We Are:
The Kitchen is a coworking and community space for the women and working parents of Sioux Falls to gather and coordinate efforts to advance each other in business, community, and family. It is a hub for female professionals across all industry that value the benefits of a strong network. Coworking spaces across the country have been proven to be beneficial to entrepreneurs and professionals by providing structure, flexibility, and freedom. The Kitchen offers all of these benefits with the added sense of support and community that only fellow women can provide.
History:
The history of The Kitchen is the history of all women. Women have almost always existed in the margins of the male-dominated business world. The community focused culture of The Kitchen creates an environment that women can claim as their own in order to take up the space they rightfully deserve. Our abundance mentality means that we understand there is a major benefit in lifting each other, and that we all succeed when our fellow women succeed. Our founder, Jen, launched this project in 2019 with a crowdfunding campaign on iFundWomen, and was able to open the doors in February of 2020. We currently serve over 20 members, and over 15 female owned businesses! We are thrilled that this crowdfunding platform has allowed us to create so many meaningful connections within our community, and we hope to continue that growth.
What We Offer:
A safe, comfortable, and inclusive environment that is catered to the needs of our community through specialized events, focused educational programming, and physical space amenities. These amenities include a clean and inspiring design aesthetic, breastfeeding friendly spaces, drop-in childcare, coffee bar, personalized meal delivery, and more. These offerings enable members to use the space as the place she can embark on her journey to fulfillment professionally and personally. We make sure to always keep in mind ways that we can provide a safe space to non-binary professionals and those who identify as women.
Memberships:
Premier: $215/month, includes unlimited access to the coworking space, 20 hours of conference room rental included per month, along with a secure locker space. Unlimited access to all Kitchen programming.
Part Time: $110/month, includes 3 days/week access to the coworking space, 5 hours of conference room rental included per month. Unlimited access to all Kitchen programming.
Event Only: $55/month, includes access to all Kitchen sponsored programming.
Digital: $15/month, includes access to all Digital Content and Events, including our Groups and Forums.
Events:
We offer regular events at The Kitchen which are included with all memberships. Events will be geared towards the educational, professional, and personal advancement of women. These events will include everything from panel discussions on the issues facing working mothers, to hip-hop yoga classes. The event calendar will be filled weekly with engaging and meaningful gatherings that will facilitate a strong networking opportunity. At this time, all events are held digitally to ensure the safety of our members and their children, and are available to access through our digital membership platform.
Childcare:
One of our most exciting opportunities is our drop-in child care room. We offer engaging and interactive play for the little ones while their parents work. This service gives working parents access to community and opportunity in a flexible and affordable way that is different from standard day care options. This space allows working parents to take control of their time and schedules, without sacrificing their parenting duties.

Founder:
Jen Kolb is a Sioux Falls native, and has seen incredible growth in the community in the years she has spent working and living here. After becoming a working mother, she recognized a need for a space that would not only be inclusive for women, but would recognize the unique needs that these women have within their personal and professional lives. The idea for The Kitchen was born from a desire to help the women of her community facilitate their journeys to fulfillment.

Who is The Kitchen for? The Kitchen serves women and non-binary folks across all demographics and industries. This could be a young entrepreneur who sees the value in educational programming, a female professional who wants a strong business network, or a woman that is later in life and wants to maintain a connection to community. Mothers of any kind will find benefit in the childcare services. While the entire concept of The Kitchen is geared towards these women and their needs, it is recognized that there are also fathers who are caretakers and trying to balance these same duties. If there is a father in need of The Kitchen's services, they are encouraged to contact the space so that they may be accommodated.

How will my donation be utilized? At this time, your contribution will go towards helping The Kitchen stay afloat through the COVID-19 pandemic. As with so many others, this event has shaped our financial picture in a way that puts our future in jeopardy. We truly believe in this space and it's importance to our community, and we are beyond grateful for anyone that contributes to keep this business going.
