And, this is Our Story…
THE PROBLEM
I was a thirty-six-year-old nontraditional college student, working 9-5 daily and a mother of three. Instead of feverishly taking notes in my capstone communication class, I was staring at my phone with fear and worry plastered on my face.
This was because my children were being transported home from school using Uber or Lyft. I was a nervous wreck as I watched my children being transported by random drivers daily.
Adding to this anxiety, some drivers would show and cancel the pickup once they realized they were transporting minors.
After researching, I realized that traditional rideshare companies are not legally allowed to transport minors.
Thus, Kiddie Commute was born.
OUR SOLUTION
Kiddie Commute provides a comprehensive solution that allows parents, caregivers, and schools peace of mind by providing affordable, timely, and convenient service.
The pressure of being a working parent is tough. Having to juggle work and school drop-offs or pickups is nerve wracking. Adding to this, parents face:
- changes to work schedules
- rush-hour traffic
- a lack of trusted, reliable options to lend a hand
At Kiddie Commute, we ensure safe and reliable transportation to and from school, and to extra-curricular activities. We are the new school bus!
HOW KIDDIE COMMUTE WORKS
Kiddie Commute offers its services through mobile app where parents and caregivers can book on-demand rides as well as make reservations and subscriptions for future rides. We provide safe transportation by requiring live-scan and Trust-line background clearance of all drivers.
Our unique value proposition is that we have a 5-step clearing process ensuring that we have the top of the line contractors. Adding to that, our subscription model allows parents and caregivers the peace of mind that they have a safe & reliable source of transport.
Here at Kiddie Commute we have three goals:
- To provide safe, reliable and convenient transport
- To empower women and parents by creating jobs
- To impact social change through our partnership with government organizations, non-profits, and extracurricular service providers to provide our services to families that are from a lower socio-economic status.
WHAT WE'VE ACCOMPLISHED SO FAR

- We currently have 400 parents on our waitlist waiting for help to get their children where they need to go.
- We service every county in San Diego and have expanded at a 50% RATE each year.
- We have serviced over 10,000 rides in 450 days.
- We have built a team of 26 dedicated and committed to growing Kiddie Commute to safely and reliably transport children.

We are seeking support to expand on our concept to more regions and to become the “go to” solution for parents, extracurricular service providers, government entities, and school districts across the nation.
We believe our solution disrupts the way we think about school transportation.
Ultimately, we want to be the rideshare for all your family members who need extra care! This includes children, teens, elderly, special needs, and college students.

The Campaign FAQs
Q. Is Kiddie Commute already in business and servicing parents/children now?
A. Yes, we are currently servicing children in and around San Diego. However, we aren't accepting new riders yet until we raise enough funding to build the app and hire more drivers.
Q. When will the app be ready?
A. March 2020
Q. What ages does Kiddie Commute service?
A. We provide service for grades K-12th grade.
Q. How does Kiddie Commute guarantee my child will be safe?
A. Our unique value proposition is our 5-step clearing process ensuring that we have the top of the line contractors. This process includes a basic background check, DOJ fingerprinting, Trustline registry, motor vehicle record pull/monitoring, and classroom & behind the wheel training.
Q. Is my child able to be dropped off at a different location other than my home?
A. Yes. We allow you to provide an alternate drop off location (max 5 miles). Requests must be made through customer service.
Q. My child is older and apprehensive about driving in a Kiddie Commute car. Do you transport older children?
A. Yes! In fact, we transport many older students that want to take part in extracurricular activities that are not located in their neighborhoods. Our drivers will arrive (on request) without the decals so that no one will ever know your student is riding in a KC vehicle.
Q. One of your rewards includes giving a portion of money raised to families in need. How will this be handled?
A. We often receive calls from military, single-parent, or low-income households asking about discounts. We will reserve all these donations in escrow to gift families with a weeks worth of free rides until all funds are depleted. We will post updates from families who have benefited on our FB page.
For every $75, $5 goes to a scholarship fund for low income parents who need a helping hand to get their children to and from their weekly activities. Your contribution helps a child in need and we are so thankful to you for it.
