Hello, my name is Nicole and I'm 9-years old.  I'm a third-year Home school student at the Tonya Cummings Academy.   I started watching my mother bake cakes and I asked if I could help. This is when I found my passion to bake.  

One day I went to the post office with my mommy my mask has Katie's Cakes on it.  I started talking with the postmaster and I told her I bake pound cakes. Postmaster said hold on she went to the back gave me $20 dollars and said bake me a cake. This was my first order.  This is when Katie's Cakes started in June 2020. Each homemade cake is made with love and simple ingredients.  I want my customers to feel loved, wanted, and happy when they eat a slice of cake.

The events I did in 2020 were Juneteenth,  I was invited to Chalk & More, I was invited to Longs Farmers Market, Black Restaurant Week, and last Black Business Expo Food Truck. 

I have my own business, so I had to have a team. My mommy is my Assistant, my daddy is the Taste Tester, my auntie is my Manager, and my cousin is also a Taste Tester.  It is great to have my family involved in my dream.  This business is my passion to become the best Chef.

My dream is to become a French Chef and French Teacher in Paris.  I want to own a French restaurant.
