IN JOSEPHINE'S COTTON- THE REVUE (A New Musical),
THE FIRST BLACK AMERICAN SUPERSTAR DIVES DEEPER INTO HER CHILDHOOD, ADULT LIFE EXPERIENCES AND REFLECTIONS THROUGH IMAGINING A WORLD THAT MIGHT EXIST DURING THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE MOVEMENT.
THE STORIES OF PIONEERS ARE TIMELESS AND SURE TO CAPTURE AUDIENCES GLOBALLY.
JOSEPHINE'S EXPERIENCES WITH A CAST OF EXUBERANT INFLUENTIAL ICONS WILL PROVE TO BE TIMELY AS THEY ARE POTENT.
Come experience the good ground on which Josephine's Cotton was planted!
The funding and your generous contribution will help cover the venues, lighting technicians, Creative Directors, assistant choreographers, wardrobe staff and insurance fees. We will allocate the needed funding for transportation, studio time for artists to prep for the show and our marketing promotions. Artist stipends and rehearsal pay will be provided as well. I have 13 amazing professional dancers and artists committed to the production. I would also like to use some of the profits from the Showcase and acquire a venue for another performance in the inner-city schools and New York City's 'New Harlem' communities. As we debut 'Josephine's Cotton' the funding will help us invigorate our youth in the 'New Pioneer' Project. Our educational systems need dedicated artist with experience, professional performance backgrounds and knowledge to teach the next generation. I want this project to be reoccurring as a performance arts initiative in dance education on the Harlem Renaissance. Expanding Diversity and inclusion for women artist and producers incite my platform for this production.
Thank you for your time,
Tina Thompson, Artistic Director/ Executive Producer/ SKIN Dance Company
