Project Description

Our mission for this project is to open a storefront where we are able to continue selling our items where every item sold helps to fund children and their families who are facing childhood cancer. By offering a storefront, we would have a location with set hours for our customers (reoccurring and new) to come and shop. Every patron who comes into our storefront will be presented with murals, superhero spotlights, events, etc which would express and share our passion and mission. In turn, we hare hopeful that this would not only bring our voices louder, but also encourage the community to help join our cause. It takes a village and no child fights alone.

We have been selling secondhand items and lemonades/teas for almost 2 years as a form of funding our cause and we have raised nearly $60,000 by doing so. We are a very small organization, but we are mighty. We have so many customers who share the enthusiasm of our storefront and we strive to make our dreams a reality.

The problem that we are solving is offering a more convenient way for our customers to purchase outside of Facebook marketplace and offer consistent hours and a location where they can come at their availability. Furthermore, this problem will be solving the consistent and sustainable funds that we are in dire need of that enables us to continue and fulfill our mission.

We want to spread childhood cancer awareness more prominently and what better way to do that than offering the chance for more chances to share our mission. This is by having a location that patrons can shop, consume drinks, participate in events such as blood drive/bone marrow drives, lemonade stands, etc whilst collaborating with other local shops to come together for an incredible cause.

The location that we are looking at opening our store front has a population of 8,424 within 1 mile, 75,620 within 5 miles and 188,471 within 5 miles. With this, the market size would offer at least 1/4th of the population size within a year's time. This is considering many customers we have across within 60 miles who would travel to and many others who would want to visit just because of our cause. This number would roughly be at least 47, 117 expected patrons.

Our products are items that have been provided by businesses, community donors, and stock. These items consist of toys and children items and also consumable items such as lemonades, teas, coffees. The community has been an incredible support and we have received great reviews over the past 2 years of operating out mission outside of a storage unit, Facebook marketplace, parking lot pop up events, and garage sales. We are ready to bring everything under one roof and into a store.

We are seeking funding because it takes a village. We are needing the funding to secure the location that we would like to open our storefront without taking away from the children we support. Our efforts even in the face of COVID have not ceased. We have been presented with some difficulties with sales using the platforms that we use due to algorithms and other factors out of our control and we believe that it would be a more effective and sustainable push to open our storefront once and for all.

Our team consists of the founding family of 4, 12 volunteers, 6 board of directors, 2 employees and an incredible childhood cancer community. As our motto goes, it takes a village and no child fights alone!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to read about our mission and your consideration in supporting our campaign. We are utterly grateful for the opportunity and the growth of a supportive community.
