Project Description

Growing up with art in my surroundings, I am passionate about great galleries and the connection they bring to people within the community they belong to. Liberty Bay Gallery is one of these galleries which has held my heart for a few years. Liberty Bay Gallery is located in Poulsbo, WA. It has served to represent over 60 artists since 2012. Artists market their work successfully in this gallery on a commission basis. While over 60 artists presently populate the gallery, Liberty Bay maintains a healthy wait list of new artists wishing to market their work there.

Liberty Bay Gallery has been voted the number 2 gallery in Poulsbo, and the 5th most popular gallery in the Greater Puget Sound Region! (http://king5.secondstreetapp.com/Best-of-Western-Washington-2017-2/gall…

Poulsbo's population continues to expand at a rapid rate (currently over 10,000 within city limits). The gallery also serves the greater Puget Sound Region as well as visiting tourists during the summer months.

My burning desire is to continue and build this gallery's success! The gallery is for sale as one of the partners is relocating out of state. To purchase this gallery and continue its legacy I am seeking $20,000 which will complete the purchase and provide starting capital for marketing and basic expenses needed for full transfer of the business.

The local arts community supports my endeavors to continue this gallery. Aside from the level of popularity this gallery has achieved, the local artists, patrons and neighboring business owners are fully supportive and hopeful for its continued success as it is a foundational member of the business community.

I am grateful for your consideration! Thank you for taking the time to consider supporting me.

The Project FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions:

Why not apply for a Small Business Administration Loan?

The minimum loan amount required to qualify for assistance from the SBA was three times larger than the needed amount. Ironically the loan repayment calculations show the gallery doesn't generate enough income to repay this larger than necessary loan, resulting in no assistance available from the SBA. In other words, this small business is too small.

How about a personal loan?

Though I have good credit, I lack tangible assets to offer as collateral.
