We are so excited that you are checking our campaign out.
With your support, we can continue to help women to build confidence through accessible and authentic style advice. Our stylists can also continue to tap on the Girlsourced platform and channels to build their portfolios, showcase their talent and benefit from today's gig economy.
In addition, we are giving proceeds to a charity based in Singapore as part of our campaign as our way of giving back. More details below.
We hope our story inspires you 💋

The Girlsourced App
Girlsourced is a personal styling mobile app available across 80 app stores worldwide, including the U.S., bringing every lady easy access to redefine her wardrobe by improving her style and shopping choices. The app comprises a community for users to crowdsource style tips, and connect in real-time with on-demand stylists who are based across APAC, Europe and the U.S.. Users are also awarded points to redeem rewards from Girlsourced partners as they interact on the app.
The app launched in May 2020 and is free to download at the following links.
The start-up based in Singapore, is women-led by co-founders Alyssa Tan and Jessie Imakoji. and is a part of CRIB Society, a social impact business that empowers women and creates entrepreneurs. Advisors include Big Data and AI, Fashion, Ad-tech and E-commerce industry experts Daryl Tan, Anisa Johnny, Anna Chan, and Kelvin Kong.
Girlsourced was an idea thought of by a girl like any other, finding fashion choices online overwhelming and unfitting for her personality. She believed that resolving this problem with fashion technology could help many other women like herself. One day while climbing a rock wall at a gym, she met a girl sharing the same vision, found out they had mutual friends and beliefs by God's grace, and they partnered to make Girlsourced a reality. Say yes to Girl Power!!
Girlsourced was launched even as we were challenged about the need for yet another app. We could not find a solution consisting of both a supportive female-only community as well as authentic professionals to help us get better at wardrobe decisions. If any, they were either focused on a sale - not on what we had in the wardrobe - or based outside of this region. Strangely enough, those based here are started by men which made us wonder why, since those apps are for ladies 🤨
Thus began the idea of Girlsourced - an app to source ideas from girls for girls.
Style confidence positively affects one's well-being but quality styling advice online is rare. This leads to misinformed buying decisions, driving 72% of all returns in fashion (Shopify, 2019). This pattern of excess online consumerism also brings about ramifications of unsustainability in the fashion world.
Personal styling services are not new but traditionally, range on average from $200 - $2000, unattainable by the average consumer. Style inspirations through social media, online magazines, etc. are free but not customised. That outfit on your favourite influencer may not be as flattering on you!
The Solution - Girlsourced
We are democratising bespoke wardrobe styling services by
- Making bespoke styling services accessible and affordable to all
- Connecting users to an authentic fashion community
- Curating global brands on an unbiased platform
The reasons behind Girlsourced are more than superficial.
The app was designed to help ladies to style without judgement, to build a supportive community that we thank with rewards. We want ladies to have a platform to ask for help and not be in want of someone's seemingly perfect body, style or life.
The particular lack of support for local fashion graduates result in most ending up in non-relevant roles. We have seen so much talent go to waste here, forgotten in this gig economy. With Girlsourced, fashion professionals not just in Singapore but from around the world, can connect with customers that they otherwise would have little if not zero visibility to, and earn wherever they are.
Users are encouraged to support each other as they receive points for their posts and responses. Over time, being a member of CRIB Society, we have seen how beautiful and thoughtful products are being left out of the limelight and brands snuffed out before they are found. The rewards section also focuses on brands that have yet to be discovered but have so much potential.
Girlsourced is in the pre-seed stage of capital raising.
With your support for our stylist sessions, our stylists will be able to earn supplementary income, especially during this COVID-19 situation where they are unable to meet clients in person. Remaining funds will go into updating the app with features that our customers have asked for and build an in-house R&D team to personalise the app further for our users.
In line with our mission, 50% of our net proceeds from sale of our on-demand virtual styling services will also go to a charity in Singapore supporting women and girls who are in financial need. Our stylists will continue to be paid in full, before we arrive at our net proceeds.
Support us, support our mission. Buy styling sessions for yourselves and for the wonderful women in your lives because all ladies deserve self-care!
See you on the app 😘
