Visual Dreaming Vision:

Enable wellbeing of First Nations people through providing a platform that supports individuals to use visual storytelling to articulate their goals and aspirations, engage in activities towards those goals, and create a community of personal and professional supporters.

Visual Dreaming Mission:

To develop in community members, including Aboriginal young men with mental health issues, the skills and tools they need to share the richness of Aboriginal Spiritual Wellbeing and create a positive future based on their aspirations and and goals, no matter what their family origin is. 

OUR WHY!

Many Indigenous youth don't know what goal setting is and struggle to believe in themselves. as they often face multiple and complex challenges due to cultural dislocation, Lack of identity and personnel trauma. 

Current system are not working for Many Indigenous youth and Culture and spiritual wellbeing is not at the centre for health and wellbeing.

OUR DIGITAL SOLUTION!

Visual Dreaming is creating a digital campfire for our youth to engage in safely and be empowered to make choices by using the technology to connect and inspire them to reach their goals with tools created to strengthen their resilience. 

We are creating a digital platform for youth to visually see the possibilities through wellbeing, health, culture and economic goals and find a team that can help them achieve what they thought was impossible to possible.

 Visual Dreaming, where everyone has a dream and a goal (vision) and believes in themself, we give youth the power to have a team to influence the vision and dreams. 

Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding?

We are so passionate about what we do, It's been a long 4 years so far, and we have achieved an amazing amount by tying up our bootstraps and getting on with the job, but we now need the community to surround this project and help keep us independent and the IP in the hands of our Indigenous community.   We also want Visual Dreaming to be a sustainable online platform, and the more community support, we can all in a small way be a part of the solution for our next generation. This campaign will support Visual Dreaming to pilot the app and go on the journey with First Nation youth, supportive services and Wiradjuri Elders.

Who is on your team?

Founder Leanne Sanders is a  proud Aboriginal woman with Aboriginal  ancestors from both sides of her family since time immemorial.  Leanne mother’s bloodline is Kamilaroi and father’s bloodline is Tatti Tatti, and Mutti Mutti. Leanne’s cultural identity is a big part of who she is and why Aboriginal culture, health and wellbeing is so important to her.I am a mother of 3 boys Tyson, Cruiz and Benji.

Leanne has a track record of 14 years of success working in mental health, public health, aged care, disability services and local government. Working in mental health, disabilities and aged care has taught me so much about the struggles for communities navigating social and health services.

Shanae Pope, Is a Wiradjuri woman from Dubbo, I am living and working in the Wagga Wagga region. I am passionate about my cultural heritage and sport plays a big role in my life. I consider myself lucky to work for Visual Dreaming as it allows me to grow as well as develop relationships with members of the community. My goal is to complete a bachelor of business management at CSU Wagga, as I believe entrepreneurship, culture and identity will make positive changes in our communities. It has been very exciting to be involved in the final development of the app and i can't wait for the future of Visual Dreaming.
