Project Description

The GAP Project was started by two young women who wanted to bridge the gap between Gen Z and politics. Since then, we have matched over 800 students with political campaigns across the country. But, we need your help to take a deeper dive.

This spring and summer the GAP Project will place 10 politically interested, low-income, BIPOC young women from the Ascend Public Charter School in Brooklyn, NY on campaigns where they will work for New York City Council candidates and see representation in action. The students will intern on campaigns while also participating in weekly lectures, workshops and civics courses with notable leaders and political figures.

Each student will receive a stipend for their work in this internship. We are fundraising to be able to provide these students with this stipend.

Please take a look at our website getactingpeople.com to see more about our work.

We are grateful for all the help we can get and for the opportunity to provide these students with an enriching and transformative experience. Thank you!

The Campaign FAQs

What is the GAP Project?

The GAP Project is a data-driven, grassroots consortium connecting Generation Z with political campaigns on the local, state, and national level. We have developed an intuitive quiz for students and campaigns that assess each personal values and political stances and creates a match based upon our algorithm.

The GAP Project places young people as volunteers on political campaigns of all kinds across the United States. The GAP Project mobilizes Generation Z to engage with the political system, take action to get their voices heard, and, most importantly, to vote. We are shaping a representative and equitable America, and providing Generation Z with a pipeline into politics.
