Project Description
Freedom with Food and Fitness was created by Alana Van Der Sluys with the goal of teaching women how to stop seeking weight loss, stop listening to diet culture's harmful messages, shift their mindsets and beliefs around health, start eating intuitively, and find peace and happiness with their bodies, weight and food.
FFF's target demographic is women 25-44, primarily residing in the United States. They are mainly mothers and college students who are either in disordered eating recovery or frustrated with failed weight loss diets.
I am just finished writing an interactive self-help book called The Every Girl’s Guide to Intuitive Eating and Fitness: Actionable Strategies, Tips and Self-Reflection Prompts to Heal Your Relationship with Food and Your Body .
After the book is published and I continue to grow the business online, using the book as a calling card, I will start creating evergreen online courses and opportunities for 1:1 and group coaching surrounding intuitive eating. As the business grows, I would like to write more books surrounding perfectionism and other ideas related to how much pressure is put on women, book speaking engagements at colleges and wellness expos, and host retreats for women.
I am seeking funding for marketing purposes and to receive my intuitive eating coaching certification.
As of now, the team is only me, but as the business grows I would love to hire women who are also passionate about intuitive eating and eating disorder recovery.

What is intuitive eating?
Intuitive eating is an anti-diet philosophy that has 10 core principles that includes honoring your hunger, fullness and cravings, while keeping gentle nutrition in mind. Intuitive eaters do not have weight loss as an active goal.
