Project Description
Currently, there’s a challenge with fit in the apparel industry, and this is because every brand designs its collections around one very specific fit model, then scales up and down, based on the dimensions of that model.
Where that leaves most of us is above, below, and between the cracks.
It's important to note that this isn't about being plus sized, or petite. This is about every woman having completely unique dimensions that should be celebrated, not forced to fit into cookie cutter sizes that weren’t made for her.
Our solution is to do away with cookie cutter sizes, and create a true Size YOU™!
Why Us?
There are three of us that make up the core team building fib(h)er. Combined, we have 40+ years of experience in outdoor, apparel, and tech.
Specifically, our experience working with well-known women’s outdoor apparel brands was the inspiration for this idea.
The Outdoor industry is constantly seeking innovation, and the realization that there is continued failure to nail a reliable fit for women was our aha moment.
The Collection
We’re planning an assortment of multifunctional basics, at MSRPs on-par with popular high-end activewear brands on the market today.
Our ingredients will, of course, be sustainably and responsibly sourced, and we’re focused on high-quality end products, BUT, what will make our assortment stand out from the rest is that each piece will be custom tailored to each individual woman’s dimensions.
Additionally, the range of customization options for each piece, from fabric, color, and trims, to shape and fit will mean countless possibilities for how each piece is designed, worn, and used.
Giving Back
Our mission is to provide community, support and opportunity for ALL women with every fiber we source, and every garment we create.
Not only will we be donating a portion of our proceeds to partner women's organizations, but we'll also be building in a variety of community features and shopping incentives that empower you to give back within your own community and to yourself.

The Campaign FAQs
- Where will fib(h)er apparel be manufactured?
We plan to manufacture all of our custom apparel in Portland, Maine, in the same location as our office and flagship store!
- How do we follow the progress of fib(h)er as you continue to build the brand?
We invite you to sign up for our email list at https://fibher.com and follow us on social media. These are the primary ways we'll share updates along our journey to launch!
- How do I become an ambassador?
Simply visit our About page at https://fibher.com/about and submit a message that describes your biggest fit issue, and what custom activewear would mean to you.
- How do I get involved in the Alpha test?
Our top reward level ($1000) grants automatic participation to our Alpha test. In early September, we'll put out a call for all others to apply for consideration for the remainder of our open spots in the test. If you're signed up for our email list, you'll be among the first to know! All participants will need to be willing to travel to Portland Maine for two separate meetings (Pre-fit, and fit) this fall.
- When and how do I get involved with the Beta test?
Our beta test is currently on our roadmap for Summer of 2019. If you contribute to this campaign at the $25 or higher level, you're automatically in for early access to the beta! Otherwise, be sure you're signed up for our email list, so you're among the first to know when we open up requests for access in late Spring (2019).
- How long will it take to get my rewards?
All digital rewards will be delivered to your inbox within 48 hours of your contribution. All physical rewards will be shipped within 2 weeks after the close of this campaign. If your reward level includes a phone case, we'll need to confirm your phone style, then your rewards will ship within 2 weeks of the date you confirm.
