Project Description
Who We Are: A Local Yarn Store, Textiles Workshop & Gallery Space.
At Fiber Parts, we strive to be a focal point between hobby artists and professional artists in the Textile Arts. We hope to create a space that is part retail store: serving independently made products, part workshop: keeping textile arts knowledge alive and accessible to everyone, and part gallery space: showcasing works by local Textile Artists.
What need to we fill:
We want to open a brick and mortar store in Metro Atlanta. There are a few local yarn stores, but no singular place that caters to a broad range of Textile Artists (Weavers, Spinners, Embroiderers, as well as Knitter/Crocheters). We want to be that space. By selling to hobbyists and employing textile artists for workshops, we are creating a community that feeds itself. We will supply the artist with materials needed to finish works, invite hobbyists to learn from professional artists, and help emerging artists by showcasing their work in a gallery setting. We want to create a store that supplies both aspects of the industry, hobbyists (crafters), and professional textile artists, as well as emerging artists such as textile arts students the Metro Atlanta colleges. We want to be a community led space that celebrates Textile Arts and the Makers in this field.
What we sell:
We have cultivated a list of specialty yarns and fibers from Small Batch Fiber Companies, Independant Fiber Mills and Farms, Independant Hand Dyers, and Makers from across the US. 85-90% of our products are made in the US, at least 75% by women. We will carry yarns, fibers, and goods by a diverse group of makers, thereby investing in other small businesses.

What we need:
We are working with an SBA approved lender for a 7a Loan for our initial funding. We need 10% equity for that loan, and are asking for $10,000 towards our startup costs. $6,000 will go towards the equity of the loan, and $4,000 will go towards securing our storefront.

We'll select 2 large braids of roving from our Indie Dyers for you. This reward includes the "I support the Fiber Arts" sticker pack. All items will ship within 2 weeks of campaigns end.
