Project Description
A Flare of Home is a Bronx-based, luxury home goods brand. Our products are handmade with organic + reusable materials, while our goal is to promote self-care and push you through the day to day - just like your go-to playlist. We want to change the way people experience music and home.
Each fragrant product is infused using aromatherapy techniques and are "musically-paired" to bring our customer base an experience. Just scan a QR Code, light our scented candle, and press play for a curated moment. We are able to highlight artists (new or classic) and bring them closer to their fan base in a meaningful way. Our products don't just smell good, they feel good.
What's our trajectory?
- The global scented candles market size was estimated at USD 533.5 million in 2020 and is expected to reach USD 543.6 million in 2021. If you consider the music industries billion dollar status and the implementation of livestream shopping through the use of QR coding, the opportunity for our growth into a "musical home showroom" is exponential.
At AFOH, our goal is to shine a light on musicians and other artists in a new way - big or small. Through collaboration with streaming services and the artists themselves, we will change the way people shop for their homes while also bringing wellness to forefront of the conversation.
We are currently seeking funding to solidify our foundation as a recognized brand. The funding we receive will go towards legal fees, marketing, operations, new product packaging, and hopefully a safe space to create that isn't the CEO's at-home kitchen in The Bronx.
A Flare of Home launched in February 2020 out of necessity + passion and has been a team effort between our CEO and her family/friends. We are hoping this funding will help this homemade brand reach its full potential.

Do you have a team?
We are a black woman-owned business and this was brewing in our CEO's brain for 8 years before our launch. Our hope is to build a team of innovative people who are just as passionate about music and home as she is!
How long before my products are shipped?
All of our products are hand-poured and made-to-order. If we receive a surge in orders, please allow 1-3 business days for production and 3-5 business days for shipping after you receive your tracking information.
