The global wellness market is now valued at $4.75 trillion.
The health and wellness industry witnessed amazing innovations that are spreading the gospel of self-care and affordable health solutions, but more needs to be done to reach broader audiences.
Expanding diversity and inclusion in wellness is the only way forward in addressing this need.
Dive in Well provides the resources to make such a change by:
- Bringing people together together as a catalyst for change in this ever-trending space by creating an environment for connection, learning, and growth
- Drawing on both the salon model and digital access to present new ideas and put them into action
- Releasing best practices as a standard for participating and staying accountable
OUR IMPACT SO FAR
In the first year of launching DIW, we have had 4 gatherings across NYC and LA that have already brought together nearly 100 leaders and influencers within the wellness industry, and our guest reach is over 1.3M people!
We have partnered with dozens of brands, including Imperfect Foods, Health Ade, MNDFL, Plant People, and Harmless Harvest.
The collaborations and changes that have followed are even more meaningful.
“I was so thankful to have been provided a safe space to connect with like-minded wellness colleagues during Dive in Well. Our topic was allyship so it was fitting for me to leverage my learnings when I was approached by an inclusive brand for a collaboration. I was able to recommend other BIPOC Dive in Well community members for the brand campaign and they were chosen! I was also successful in introducing more powerful allies to each other. And isn’t that the whole point of Dive in Well?! It works! I can bear witness. And my life is fuller for having attended and been connected to such magical allies.” — Taryn Dean, Founder of the Beauty Mage
“The Dive In Well Dinner on privilege impacted me deeply. In 2019 we made the transition to only use imagery that reflected the identity of our members — BIPOC, LGBTQA+, and differently bodied people. But representation in media is more than just imagery; it’s about providing the opportunity to tell their own stories by amplifying their messages. So we started two new feature series on Holisticism — a monthly column with Jordi (a community member of DIW), and a monthly feature on a BIPOC or LGBTQA+ healer / practitioner. We instituted a company-wide inclusion rider, meaning if we are ever invited to an opportunity to be a speaker, podcast host, subject of a feature, etc., an equal or higher value opportunity must be pitched to a BIPOC or LGBTQIA+ wellness expert, too. We also launched a scholarship and support series for all people who cannot afford our monthly membership.” — Michelle Pellizzon, CEO & Founder of Holisticism
GROWING DIVE IN WELL
Growing Dive in Well is going to be a group effort, and that’s why we now have a team to support our expanding community.
This means we can bring even more impactful conversations to the table and long after our dinners. Outside of events, we plan on providing resources to empower individuals who believe in soul-centered wellness and justice for marginalized communities. You can get a taste of our workbook offerings by donating $10-25 before we make them available for purchase on our website.
We plan on holding larger events and engaging with our community — even more so than we already have been. We recognize the need for these conversations beyond our LA and NYC communities, and we’re excited to expand to new cities and bring online resources to those we might not be able to work with in person.
There are clear barriers to women, especially women of color (WOC), when it comes to fundraising. As of 2019, WOC account for 50% of all women-owned businesses and generate $422.5 billion in revenue for the economy. Yet, out of $85 Billion in VC funding last year, WOC only received less than 1%. As a WOC owned business, we are crowdfunding due to these disparities.
Crowdfunding is a way to call upon our community and allies in order to gain the support and energy needed to continue to fuel and expand the Dive in Well mission and movement.
Above all else, we believe in paying people fairly for the time and energy they put into working with us. The biggest cost in producing our experience is the people, everyone from the photographers to the chefs, and especially guest speakers, facilitators, and musical guests. We’re intentional about the people and brands we collaborate with and the venues we choose.
You're not only investing in the future of Dive in Well, but in the future of the entire wellness industry.
