Cupcake Envie - Growing up and leaving home.

     My story starts 7.5 years ago when I decided to start my own home based cupcake business.  I had been making cakes for 5 years before that at various retail bakeries.  While I tried to stick to cupcakes because they are simple, my loyal clients just would not let me. They knew I could do the big and extravagant cakes so of course I caved because I love giving my customers exactly what they want. Although my customers still love my cupcakes and buy out all of my cupcake flash sale inventory, my main orders are custom cakes. 

I am currently at the point where I have too little space for the amount of orders coming in. Too often I am turning down customers solely due to no space to make their products because it is occupied by other orders. My little residential wall oven can't keep up with the hours and hours of baking. My refrigerator reserved for only cakes can only hold so many also. 

    It is time to grow up and leave home. A retail location where I can bake 20x the product in less time and have the proper size coolers to store products in is necessary for me to be able to accommodate all the order inquiries I receive.  It would also offer people who need last minute products the ability to walk in and purchase fresh made items without having to place an order or resort to buying generic items from a grocery chain.

The business is out there to be had. The location I am wanting to lease has a traffic count of 30,000 plus vehicles a day.  Within a 5 mile radius of the location is a population of 72,499. Out of nearly 4000 businesses in the city, only 1430 of those are owned by women. 

Cupcake Envie makes custom cakes for any and all occasions; birthdays, showers, anniversaries, weddings, adult novelty etc. We have an extensive cupcake menu that is always changing and adding new flavors. From regular chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing to bacon cupcakes with maple icing, nothing is too out the box for us to try.  Everything is made fresh, nothing is frozen. We want our products to look as good as they taste. No one wants a pretty cake they can't eat.  

 We also try to give back to the community as much as possible. We frequently hold cupcake fundraisers for various organizations, individuals and schools. Our largest donation to date was $2621. With a bigger location we can do bigger fundraisers more frequently. We want to help as much as we can in the community that supports us so much.

I am seeking funding for start up cost for the commercial location to help with lease and utility down payments, permits/inspections as well as purchasing basic commercial kitchen equipment to get it operational.  

  My team consists of myself as lead decorator, my sister in law as my second hand, leg, arm and head, and my dear husband who will be my fix it all technician. I have been decorating cakes for 13.5 years. My sister in law has been decorating for about 9 years. We work amazingly together and working together makes it fun and not a job to us.
