Project Description
I’ve spent several years planning parties, and each year I approach the same struggle: Where am I going to host the event? I Google for days and hours on end and each year I’m reminded that, on the south side of Chicago, quality options are few and far between. Therefore, when I decided to turn my hobby into a business, I knew myself and my community would benefit from a venue that offers versatility, style, and functionality. I also knew that as an educator, I wanted to provide the community with another aspect we were lacking: a community center. I wanted to ensure that I not only embarked on a journey that explored my passion for parties, but also provided a place where I can use my gifts as an educator to develop tutoring programs, and a space where I can invite others to share their gifts through classes and activities.
Since the expansion of my vision for Confetti Chicago, I developed the concept of full service. We pride ourselves on being full service because we know what it’s like to be the mom who runs back and forth decorating, hosting, refilling, but by the end of the event never gets an opportunity to sit and enjoy the fruits of her labor. We don’t want that for our guests, so we offer services for every detail so she doesn’t have to. We also know what it feels like to be the teacher amongst youth and family who need a little laughter, joy, and authentic social interaction, especially during these times. It’s an unsettling feeling, and as an Educator, I refuse to allow our community to drown in its sorrow due to the unforeseen circumstances. So our plan is to expand into an event center that offer service AND support for the Chicagoland community. Not only will we host and celebrate the milestones our neighbors and friends, but we’ll offer a safe, socially distanced space for community gatherings, tutoring, and programs that foster healthy coping mechanism. By funding Confetti Chicago’s renovations, you’ll aid in our mission to foster joy, hope, and resilience in a city that needs it most.

Q: What kind of events do you do?
A: We plan any event from wedding receptions to grand openings.
Q: Do you already have a location?
A: We are currently working on a lease agreement with a property in Bedford Park. High traffic area with plenty of parking.
Q: What kind of community based programs do you plan to offer?
A: We are looking to contract teachers to provide a tutor service to support students who have fall behind due to the e-learning and hybrid academic experience.
Q: What other initiatives do you have developed for the community?
A: Some of our initiatives are as follows: hosting back to school events/giveaways, FREE read aloud sessions with Princess characters for children, and feeding the homeless.
Q: What exactly will the donated funds be going toward?
A: The current location is completed gutted and need of full build out. The donations will be going toward flooring, room build outs, ceiling, lighting, painting, resources for youth development programs, and equipment.
Q: What is your projected date for opening the center?
A: Our goal is to open by August.
