THE CULINARY DREAM CAMPAIGN
My name is Chef Candace, Executive Chef + Owner of Indulging in Flavors located in Chicago. For the past year and a half, I have been working as a private chef plan to open a culinary space offering cooking classes and available for private events in the Chicagoland area in the Spring 2019.
INDULGING IN FLAVORS LLC's mission is to teach and provide people with easy access to healthy and flavorful food. Indulging in Flavors is a woman & minority owned business located in Chicago. I have found a space to Lease and I am asking for your support in raising $10,000 for kitchen equipment purchases and renovations. Help me open Indulging in Flavors so that I am able to teach children and adults about healthy dishes, cater food with healthy menus, host private brunch and dinner events and provide a space for other chefs who are in need of using a commercial kitchen for their business.
I would also like to partner with the Save the Food organization once the space is opened. The Save the Food campaign is where chefs come together to raise awareness about ways to reduce food waste closer to home.
I have some pretty big plans for expansion which is why I've turned to CrowdFunding (and awesome people like you) for help. I have found a space but I need your help in securing the space, purchasing equipment and renovations. I have put together a business plan and found a location.
It is my desire open a culinary studio so that I can house a commercial gourmet kitchen to expand my business. The location will be in the Southwest Suburbs of Illinois. My company is currently in the stages of opening a culinary space and I will be teaching about and providing healthy food and using fresh and local ingredients from Chicago and Chicagoland area, as well as creating a fun experience for families and couples by offering cooking classes and making the space available to other chefs who are in need of using a commercial kitchen.
HOW I GOT STARTED
My humble beginnings began when I was a little girl cooking in the kitchen with my mother. Being a mother myself, I naturally cooked for my children, but my passion for cooking began in 2016 after my mother passed away from diabetes/high blood pressure/kidney failure. After her passing, cooking became therapeutic for me and I realized the importance of healthy eating and healthy living. We are what we eat. Eating healthy does not have to be boring, which is why I decided to create gourmet and flavorful meals.
“Of ALL the gifts LIFE has to offer, a loving MOTHER is the GREATEST of them all.” My Mother (photo above) taught me the ART of cooking when I was very young. It was like yesterday… watching her carefully & assisting in the kitchen, listening to Herb Kent on Sundays, the whole house smelling of Pot Roast & Greens, family gathering around the dining room table laughing & talking.... I am forever GRATEFUL to her for sharing her delicious talent of cooking with me & now I have the honor of sharing it with YOU.
Being able to cook food for others has given me the opportunity to create and live out my passion. I am very passionate about cooking and providing healthy meals and teaching children and adults the importance of eating healthy food; however, I really need your help to get started.
Indulging in Flavors is currently seeking a donation of $10,000 to get the business underway.
MAJOR COSTS include: kitchen equipment purchases and renovations.
Being a business owner has not been easy for me. Being a minority in this industry means I have had to work EXTRA hard to make things happen and despite ALL the obstacles and disappointment I have faced throughout the years, I have not given up, I continue to move forward and most importantly, I have faith.
Whatever you desire to donate, whether it be $5, $10 or $20, a FB/Twitter share or say a prayer, your support is sincerely appreciated.
NOTE: Donations can also be sent to Indulging in Flavors, P.O. Box 16308, Chicago, IL 60616 -- make checks payable to Indulging in Flavors.
