Our Why: We exist to fully eliminate poverty, inequality, injustice, and climate change by the year 2030. And we believe that young people are going to be the ones to do it.
Our Who: We believe that young people hold the key to changing the world. With 1.8 billion young people in the world, half the world under 30 and nine in ten of these young people living in developing countries, we know that we are living in a time called "Peak Youth." To solve the challenges that the world faces by 2030, we need to tap into Peak Youth.
Our What: Young people are often seen as "The Future." We believe that young people are Today. We equip the next generation of young leaders to develop innovative, creative, and disruptive solutions to the key challenges that the world faces. Since our founding in 2016, we have supported over 400 young leaders from over 90 countries to solve local and global challenges. Whether that means supporting communities to end child marriage, provide clean water, save the Amazon, or prevent HIV, we work with young people to change their lives and the lives of people in their communities.
Our How: For the past 1.5 years, we have run our flagship program called "UNITE," a 48-hour, global, virtual "hackathon-style" Summit for positive social impact. At each Summit, 100 young leaders from across the world work virtually in teams to solve a social issue - usually relating to the theme of the Summit. We've hosted UNITE Summits focused on climate change, education, health, refugees, gender inequality - you name it. Each Summit has been massively successful, drawing young leaders from all corners of the globe together to solve complex challenges - all while overcoming cultural differences, language barriers, and different personalities and work ethic.
Kicking It Up a Notch: We've learned a lot through UNITE. We've met incredible people along the way, watched several creative and innovative new ideas unfold, and worked with some amazing partners who have supported our vision.
But it's time to kick it up a notch.
One of our biggest lessons from the past 1.5 years is that while hosting UNITE virtually has many merits, we cannot discount the value of personal connection. The harsh reality is that sustainable solutions to the major challenges that the world faces cannot simply be solved through the internet. So we're doing what millennials do best: DOING IT LIVE.
Camp 2030 is a 6-day global innovation lab for positive social change -- an expansion of our UNITE framework over the course of almost one week. For Camp 2030, we're inviting 250 of the world's best and brightest young leaders to a summer camp in Upstate New York to develop new solutions to the biggest challenges that the world faces -- uniting both changemakers, partners, and influencers alike to support the evolution of these solutions from idea all the way to impact. While sleeping in cabins and enjoying the great outdoors, Campers will engage with solve of the most complex challenges the world faces, return to their communities, and turn them into real tangible impact.
UNITE 2030 plans to provide several scholarships to young leaders who otherwise could not afford to travel to New York for Camp 2030. The cost of hosting one leader in New York is $1000, which includes all programming, accommodation, and food for the duration of the Summit. We serve young leaders in some of the poorest areas of the world, and want to unsure that we are radically inclusive to those who need it the most.
Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts, for your support. To create change, it takes a village -- and change starts with you.
