HOLD YOUR GROUND

Bizkits are our biz. We love to mix ‘em, roll ‘em, bake ‘em, butter ‘em, fold ‘em, mold ‘em… you get it. But something we love even more about this biz is all the ways it’s connected us to our community, the people we met over the past year and the change it has had on us personally. It has allowed us to contribute to mutual aid efforts, stock community fridges and collab with local artists and businesses. We feel more connected to our neighbors than ever, thanks to farmers market friends, dedicated customers, and other dope small businesses. All of these things have led to a confidence in what we do and believe, a deep appreciation for community and friendship, and a newfound sense of independence and individualism. 

After kitchen rental after kitchen rental closed on us, we wound up in our most recent kitchen. The kitchen was a WIP and had electrical issues, leading us to lose all of our product and ingredients 3 weeks. in. a. row. At the same time, Ali started having terrible abdominal pain and has spent most of the last two months in the hospital or at doctors appointments in Seattle. To top it all off, when we asked to expand kitchen hours last month, our manager replied that our kitchen would be closing in two weeks and we had to move out by then. So, yeah - three kitchens gone within 8 months.

We made the move to a private space to secure the future and stability of GB. We now have a place for this biz to continue to grow and give back. But our third unexpected kitchen closure has pushed us into a private space sooner than we had anticipated. And, well, now we’re here - asking to be community funded so we can continue to be community focused.

SITTING ROUND AT HOME

IYKYK. And if you don’t, let us tell you about GB. We make small batch plant-based bizkits from scratch in Nashville, Tennessee, that are packed with hardcore flavor.

March of 2020 threw three huge hurdles at us: the Middle Tennessee tornado that destroyed our neighborhood; the pandemic that halted our lives two weeks later; and the loss of our jobs due to said pandemic. We did what we had to do. We baked our feelings away.

The first biscuits that Ali made were… terrible. But it was love at first fold. We tested bizkit after bizkit after bizkit until we knew it was perfect. Then we asked everyone we know to try it until they could say the same. We developed three signature flavors that are all f*cking vegan. The Straight Edge is your classic buttermilk bizkit. Without the butter or milk. Packed with garlic and cheddar cheese, the Loaded pays homage to the Red Lobster biscuits of our youth. Then there’s the Blackout. It’s tart from dried cherries and pleasantly smokey from our house-made jalapeños that are pickled with Chiles de árbol. We currently wholesale bizkits to retail partners and directly to you by way of farmers markets, collaborations and pop-ups in Nashville.

Guerilla Bizkits has been our compassionate passion project that has expanded into so much more. We’ve done, seen, grown so much over the past year and can’t wait to continue with your help.

Our iFundWomen goals are to:

1. Deck out a private space for GB to f*ckin’ grow

2. One word: bureaucracy (obtain permits, certifications, nutrition info)

3. Finish our packaging that can be composted at home (yep!)

BIZKIT POWER

It wouldn’t be fair to ask for your support without explaining who we are and what we believe. We are colorful in character, emphasizing and amplifying Nashville’s colorful and strange nature by supporting creatives. We are compassionate in creation, for Earth, for animals, for each other. At the center of our creation is a commitment to conscious consumption and contributing to the community. We are punk in ethos and will always be anti-fascist, anti-capitalist, anti-militarist, anti-authoritarian, anti-sexist, anti-racist, anti-homophobic, and anti-oppression.

We’ve centered our lives around compassion, equity, and justice by loudly and proudly participating in the fight for total liberation. We will always continue to uphold these principles. And, as we grow, we will continue applying these principles to the bizkit biz. 

GOOD INTENTIONS

$45k is a lot of money. We know. We’ve been budgeting, saving, accountant...ing to figure out how to make a space work. With Ali in and out of the hospital (another looooong story) and with us effectively operating a 10% of the usual, we’re in a pickle.

‘Cause we are our unique selves, we’ve created a concept that is authentic to ourselves. Guerilla Bizkits is our baby, and we can’t wait to watch our bizkit baby grow. Our community is what has made our growth possible, and for that, we are so grateful. Thank you for continuing to champion our growth. THE OWNERS

I’m Ali - the culinary and administrative director of GB. I do the research, develop the recipes, test the products, manage inventory, control food waste, ensure food safety, draft agreements, handle invoices, manage emails, crunch numbers, break down budgets, file taxes… oh, and make the bizkits. 

Zach is GB’s creative director. Really, he’s the whole marketing team. He designs our merch, brands our biz, runs our social and mans our market booths. He has brought both attitude and color to GB. We are both incredibly grateful for the opportunity to do what we love.
