The Bride's Advocate is a catered wedding gown buying experience that begins with the bride choosing gowns from the gown gallery that she would absolutely love to try on, then she picks a date for her special day and I bring them to the location of her choosing. She is completely free to customize her gown, add or take away sleeves, swap a top out with a different dress... the options are endless! All of this is experienced in the quiet setting of her choice, or with an entourage to celebrate elaborately. I bring the Yes!/No! props, games if desired and the dresses to host the experience she'll always cherish.
The business model of The Bride's Advocate (under the authorization of designer Chloe Claireese) is that each city or area will have a Gown Stylist residing in a metro area to be accessible to each bride, and work on an independent contractor basis. This program is fresh and new, so I have come aboard to bring a different tactic to succeeding at this wide open market. Within hours of being accepted as a contractor, I began researching event trade shows to attend in my little area, but the timing of the year is wrong, except for a national chain of events called The Big Fake Wedding.
The Big Fake Wedding is an opportunity for a loving couple to renew their vows at the expense of vendors who will put their products and/or services "on display" for the sake of a wonderfully thought out production where the skills and talents of the vendors are seen in action. In corresponding with the VP of Sales, I've learned that they don't have the dress spot open for the Seattle show which is near me, but they do have 3 shows that are without a gown designer: Dallas, NYC and New Orleans (video says Houston, but N.O. is correct).
As you can see in the images included, they are absolutely in love with the gowns and the concept of catering to the bride, so much so they have already invited me to fill all 26 show's dress slots for 2018!

I Feel blessed to have such a huge opportunity before me this quick, and quickly I have recalled how much I enjoyed putting my wedding together. In my teen years, I had a lot of fun participating in pageants. I just created a guide for networkers to follow and be able to organize their daily appointments as well as social growth activities. I love organizing things, and I want to take this business far beyond wedding gowns. I want to be the personal assistant to brides, and what better way to start off right than with a series of nationwide events that connects me with a hand-selected group of vendors that I can see in action in the very cities I will be growing a clientele in. Having these bonds with vendors will enhance the overall experience I want to provide the bride.
I see a successful business with numerous amounts of included or free value, plus offering wedding concierge (aka wedding planning), travel options geared towards honeymoons, and possibly more.
The ideas are endless with a cake decorator, dj, caterer, etc as my first relationships when I land in each city!
Because I am at the spot I am in (please see bio), I am seeking funding for immediate seed money because the 3 shows I have been invited to are September 20th, 2017 (Dallas), October 10th, 2017 (NYC), and December 7th, 2017 (NOLA). In choosing my health above all, I lost nearly all of my worldly belongings, including my home. I am currently sleeping on a twin mattress at my generous, yet still abusive ex-husband. I would love to have this opportunity to grow myself out of this situation I am found in.
Here is an itemized list of the expenses I will have in order to accomplish the three shows this year:
Website and Logo Design: $300
-event fee $495
-air est. $325
-1 nt. $150
-event fee $495
-air est. $435
New Orleans $1140
-event fee $495
-air est $495
-1 nt. $150
Crowdfunding Fees: $351
Any backing above these projected expenses would be applied to more rapid growth through web design, social media reach, and especially the future participation in the 26 shows in 2018 on The Big Fake Wedding. In the meantime, I will be hosting Bridal Socials to earn the money for daily living, to grow out of my situation and for investing.
This dream is not just my own. My 16 year old daughter, Messina would absolutely love the opportunity to be a model, and what better gift for me to give her would be the open door to do so. Beyond the mentioned events, there are so many other events to participate in that Messina would be ready and is completely in love with the idea of doing. She is a natural beauty, and is in need of direction, structure and a filter for good hobbies. I would love to support her in the direction that she would passionately love to go.
My mom is older and has been through a lot in life. She currently lives in the basement of my sister's house. While she is well provided for, she is not happy in her spirit. I love her so much, and it would be an honor to provide her with a perfect little home on a beach somewhere she wants to go, with no expectations or stress about providing. She is also very crafty, and she loves the idea of providing me a supply of custom garter belts, gown belts/sashes and headpieces for the brides we cater to.
This project is really a culmination of the rising of beauty from ashes. I have been through much in my life, and never given up. Funding this dream not only begins the journey of what I have dreamed of since a child, but it also changes the story of my mom who has been persevering so hard since a young girl. I would also be able to support, guide and facilitate the door opening to her career dreams of being a model. She also has amazing makeup skills, and if she wanted, I could create a career within the company so she could do that.
There is something bigger going on here that I take seriously, and that is designer Sarah has been a successful business owner many times over and she is a positive influence in our community. She is married to a man in the police force, and they sacrifice so much for others. She began the industry in owning a bridal shop, and found herself falling in love with designing gowns that catered to brides. It would be an honor to play a massive role in her rise to success. She loves and gives. She is patient beyond compare. She is someone I want to partner with for the long haul to see success rise to bold, brave and mighty women.
A mock up for my graphics guy.
