A. Bernadette works with female entrepreneurs to help:
- Develop a business plan
- Secure Funding
- Connect with a supportive community
Achiro Betty has developed an idea to create a pop-up food service in Jinja, Uganda. She currently runs a kiosk to support her three children but hopes to grow her business to deliver delicious food with a rotating menu bringing new and exciting dishes to Jinja each month. She wants to grow her business to help support the elderly in villages around Jinja. Betty has a passion for helping others while helping herself and bringing light to an issue important to her heart.
Betty Bakes will serve the expat community in Jinja, Uganda. New restaurants appear often in Jinja with a line around the block but fizzle out after a few months time. Betty will serve a rotating menu of chicken and waffles, chilli, cornbread, and other delicious items currently not available in Jinja. Dishes will include free delivery to the customer for easy enjoyment. Betty has received funding from A. Bernadette which has allowed her to open a small kiosk and begin selling local items. An increase in funding will allow her to do the following:
- Work with a local business development coach
- Work with a social worker to help develop a plan for her elder care center
- Create signage, baking equipment, and other necessary items to cook delicious meals
Betty is currently working independently but has a dream team on deck waiting for her to give the word she is ready to move forward.
Thank you to all who took the time to read Betty's plan and special thanks to those who contributed!
