  • What is the mission of your company or project? To Create safe and delicious food for people with celiac disease and allergies
  • Describe the problem you are solving.  Helping those in need of safe food that wont get them sick
  • What is the market size/opportunity? The market is all celiacs, gluten allergies, nut free, dairy free, soy free, vegan, egg free
  • What is your company/product about and how does it solve the problem? My gluten free flour blend creates delicious products that no one can believe is gluten and dairy free.  
  • Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding? Im seeking funding to grow my business from a small home kitchen to a industrial kitchen with my own store front.
  • Who is on your team? I am a sole proprietor 
  • During the covid 19 pandemic I was laid off from my full time job as a pastry chef in Boston.  During those 4 months I decided to move forward with starting my own dedicated gluten free bakery from home.  I was diagnosed Celiac in 2012, I was already in the pastry field, which made it challenging to do my job around all of the flour.  I was getting sinus infections every other month just from breathing in the flour.  I made the decision that I should not be working with it anymore and worked day in and out to develop my very own gluten free flour blend.  With this blend I then started developing recipes which came out 100 percent better than what is in the market today.  I am currently running my business from my small home and it is growing rapidly.  It is based online with pickups at my residence.  I am also back to working my full time job with hopes to let go of that soon and use Better Grains as my only source of income.   Since opening a year and a half ago I have over 400 clients.  I participate in a farmers market every Sunday and I also give discounts to the Boston childrens hospital celiac kids center.  I have two stores interested in buying my product and I'm currently working on getting my wholesale license.  I am very passionate and motivated but I need some support to help me get my business to the next level, in my very own store front.   My bakery is not only dedicated gluten free and safe for celiacs but it is also allergen friendly.  I offer soy, dairy, egg and nut free items.  This is a large market of individuals and there is a need for it, as I am a celiac and I know what is out there for gluten free and its not that good.  With some help I can make my dreams come true while helping others with allergens where it is needed, in schools, elderly centers and hospitals.
