You’re a mother, chances are that you know exactly what I’m referring to. Depression, anxiety, isolation, and loss of identity after having children. 

That's the issue we solve. I’m Kelly Dever, Founder of My Place, and mother of two.

My Place is a one stop destination for your self-care needs. We understand the plight of moms who have lost themselves in motherhood, and your need to reconnect with the woman that you were before becoming a mom. My Place is a space for you to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect with other women.

When I asked moms what kept them from taking time for themselves, the number one answer was "Mom-guilt" Moms feel guilty taking care of themselves when they have no problem taking care of everyone else! You need to take time for you, if you want to be your best self for your family. 

​

When you do find the time isn't it hard to decide how to spend it. Many of these coveted minutes are lost trying to decide what to do, where to go, or who’s available. Inevitably you end up somewhere like Target, "me-time" turns into a chore, and at the end of the day you still haven’t properly connected with yourself, or anyone else.

I always felt the pressure to do it all, without asking for help. "It takes a village" but many of us end up doing it alone, thinking that asking for help would prove we can't. Maybe you don't have the support system you need, but maybe all you need is another mom to commiserate with. 

My Place takes decision making out of the equation by offering multiple self-care amenities under one roof. We strive to be a one-stop destination for your self-care needs. Our house will provide a location where you can feel comfortable and safe, while rejuvenating however you prefer.  We will provide secluded areas for naps or meditation, and a beauty room for your deep cleansing face masks.

We will have cozy corners for reading, or guilt-free scrolling. You will be able to pick the music, the volume, or what to watch during your time.

 My Place will have a craft space for your creative outlet, and a kitchen for preparing a meal with your friend.

​

My Place will offer an intimate workout space. We will provide all of the amenities and comforts of a home gym, outside of your own home. 

​

Above all, the integral part of My Place is community, there will be other moms to talk to if a friend is what you need. My Place provides community-wellness in the form of workshops, mixers, special interest groups, and service opportunities. We have already been making a difference with meet-ups that include weekly coffee hour, braidbars, cake decorating, and even “speed dating” for mom friends. We currently have over 500 subscribers.

I am raising money through IFundWomen to secure the physical space for our women centric self-care house.
