Project Description

-EBIKE.FOUNDATION---

Hello, my name is Sadie Bart and I'm in the process of starting a not for profit foundation 501(c)(3) charitable organization focused on the wellbeing of single mothers and their children. This foundation will provide assistance to financially disadvantaged single mothers by granting free transportation via ebikes or etrikes in climate friendly regions. Thus to keep things simple the name of the nonprofit will be ebike.foundation, which is also the web address or website. Not to be confused with ebike.com or ebike.org but rather ebike.foundation. Our immediate focus will be on Central Florida, then eventually the entire state and upon a successful business model, other climate friendly regions in the United States. This is a unique endeavor and geared toward helping single mothers gain independence, first with transportation and then with sustainability in the workplace and at home, via remote work, so as to eliminate the need for costly day care. Additionally, the foundation will help provide free computers with low cost internet access, and a free cellular phone along with free monthly service for low income mothers who qualify. Job specific software training and basic word processing skills will also be available at no cost and is an indispensable aspect in helping a mother succeed in this type of career. This solution creates independence and job sustainability for a mother by providing her with economical transportation that requires no registration, fuel, insurance, or upkeep. While simultaneously equipping them with the two most basic tools needed to gain job placement in the remote workforce, which is a computer and phone.
Eventually, our end goal is to convert motels into housing for this demographic, so like minded women with one infant or child can have a place to live for a limited time as they start this process of becoming self sufficient. The networking alone in this type of a dynamic will be invaluable as like minded mother's can share parental responsibilities conducive to child rearing, while also helping each other train in job specific software.
As the founder, I am currently donating my time to this endeavor and expect to hire one full time person or two part time people. While, simultaneously using freelance workers via Upwork for specific applications in getting this organization up and running. As such I am currently employing three people part time and paying them out of pocket from my own savings, until such a time as this nonprofit organization is sustainable. Due to the first two years being critical in the success or failure in the majority of start ups, I've decided to donate my time for the first two years without being paid, which will allow me to pay staff for two years based on my funding estimates without concern for income to do so. Though, obviously income is expected, it will not be necessary for the organization to thrive as foresight for all expenses have been taken into account in the funding process and details of costs associated with this start up are available for viewing so as to be completely transparent. Our funding goal for this platform is 1/3 of the total expenditure. The other 2/3 funding will be acquired by other means, such as loans, grants, and private donations. By having this plan in place, it will allow the organization time to grow and succeed without financial instability. And, though expectations are that the organization will be sustainable within the first year it will not be a deterrent or concern if it's not as a business plan based on time has been put in place. In summation the 5 P's are categorically critical: Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance.
Lastly, I'm also reaching out to successful organizations who are also helping this demographic in hopes of achieving the same end goal of providing assistance in an effort to support every mother who sincerely needs it. In addition to the business plan as described herein. The foundation will work in cooperation with other Nonprofit Organizations, Government Agencies, Philanthropist and Private Donators that assist mothers and children in a plethora of areas, so as to help struggling mothers succeed in every way imaginable. Such as supplying food, groceries and meals, clothing, socio-emotional and academic support, education, family support networks for pregnant women and their children, free books, free government cellphone and service, free PCs, childhood trauma, homelessness, rental assistance to prevent eviction, job training and placement, youth mentorship and even mother's who lose a child.

The Campaign FAQs

WHO DO WE SERVE?

Our mission is to serve and assist financially disadvantaged and less fortunate single mothers and the children they support by means of creating a sustainable lifestyle with affordable living so these women become independent and self sufficient without the need or reliance on others. By giving them the tools they need combined with a basic job specific software education this distressed demographic can find a viable career in the remote workforce so as to provide for themselves and their family without the costly need for daycare, while becoming financially secure.

WHAT ARE WE SOLVING?

Transportation, independence and financial security via sustainability in the workplace. By providing an etrike or ebike it creates independence and economical transportation with no need for fuel, registration, insurance and costly maintenance. Additionally, by providing computers, cell phones and job specific software training, this demographic can enter the remote work force and earn an income sufficient to support themselves.

HOW MUCH IS YOUR FUNDRAISING GOAL?

Our fundraising goal is a third (1/3) of our overall expense which works out to $ 46,971.31. The other two thirds (2/3) will be acquired by other means, such as loans, grants, and private philanthropic donations. To see the full $140,913.95 breakdown of itemized business expense for startup, it is posted on the platform for complete transparency.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOUR MISSION SUSTAINABLE?

There are three reasons that sets us apart from those companies that don't succeed. A well thought out business plan and income portfolio was drafted for this foundation so that it will remain financially stable and sustainable in all phases. Our largest investment needed is for startup not operating expenses, which historically dooms the majority of most businesses. As they can't afford to operate. The three phases of our income portfolio is as listed below: 1) ebike sales have a nice markup and profit margin allowing our foundation to reinvest in building a sustainable financial portfolio on the sales of ebikes through our online presence. Our overhead for this endeavor is minimal, which directly contributes to the success of our end goal as we're not working to pay bills but rather meet our end result, which is to provide the tools needed to help less fortunate single mothers and their children become financially independent. 2) We are seeking financial assistance from the private sector through our 501(c)(3) charitable organization status, which provides tax incentives for donations to our foundation and have followed a proven method of philanthropist who invest in nonprofit foundations with a good cause. The "giving pledge" is a good example of philanthropy working. And there is no better cause than helping Mom. 3) Our foundation will seek grants from both the State and Federal sector, which are plentiful but often come with restrictions, so this source of income will be reviewed meticulously so it does not inhibit our end goal in a means to assist our demographic.

Stock Ownership

The Ebike Foundation is currently in the process of having the law office of Spiegel and Utera P.A., setup a not for profit foundation as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Among the many benefits this provides it will also allow us to offer stock ownership to the investor as appreciation and belief for investing in our vision to helping less fortunate and financially disadvantaged single mothers and their children. As shareholders with stock options as the value of the company goes up wealth is created to those who own shares. The specific details have yet to be determined, but shares given will be based on the sum of the donation and are doing this to show we value the support provided. We want to share our success in terms of ownership via dividends upon longterm success from an eventual sale. This endeavor is all about creating a solution to help single mothers have independence and financial security for generations to come.
