I want to share my crowdfunding fundraiser campaign with you.  I want to show you what I am building. I am really trying to reach out more than ever to find some extra support and help.

Within my campaign you will read details of my journey to finding the space for Indulgence By Rachael, LLC, my vision of what I am creating, and what my goals are and what the funding will be used for.

I have been working for a couple of years extremely hard on building my brand and myself to become a household name, and change the way we look at food.

Once I am able to expand, we will be so much more than just a catering service. I am working on building a better food service business system model, for ourselves and community. Encouraging sustainability, balance and community, and better customer service through the connection of food. 

I know this past year, into this current one, has been challenging for all of us in so many ways. Personally to professionally, loss, anxiety and feelings of safety and security. Wouldn’t it be great to believe in something for positive change? To watch something grow?

MY STORY

I wanted to take a moment to share a glimpse into who I am and the journey that has led me to where I am today. My story is one of determination, passion for food, and the deep appreciation I have for my heritage.

It all begins with my poor Italian great grandmother, who emigrated from Italy to America in 1912, narrowly missing the ill-fated Titanic by just a month. Her journey, driven by the hope of a better life, laid the foundation for the opportunities I have today. If it weren't for her parents' inability to make the voyage in time, I wouldn't be here to tell my tale.

My love affair with food began at a young age, strongly influenced by both my Italian roots and the summers spent with my maternal grandmother in Pittsburgh, PA. Together, we would spend hours watching cooking shows, in particular, Great Chefs on PBS, and then attempt to recreate the dishes we saw. These moments ignited a passion within me and shaped my culinary aspirations.

It was during high school that I made a definitive decision to pursue a culinary career. Drawn to the realms of food history and chemistry, I paved my path by attending vocational school in my junior and senior years. I had the honor of being the President of FCCLA and actively participated in various culinary competitions, nurturing my skills and setting the stage for what was to come.

With a deep hunger for knowledge and a burning desire to refine my craft, I enrolled at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh after high school. Two years later, armed with a Science degree in culinary arts, I was prepared to embark on an exciting culinary journey. Sadly, a tragic accident left me temporarily unable to stand on my feet for long periods, forcing me to redirect my path.

For years, I put my dreams of owning a business on hold, working tirelessly in a different field to repay my student loans and achieve financial stability. However, the flame of my vision continued to flicker in the background, a constant reminder of the passion that refused to fade away. In 2009, once I regained the ability to stand comfortably, I made the courageous decision to start my own business, where I could control my hours, my projects, and my goals while sharing my love for culinary artistry with others.

Being a woman chef and a woman-owned business, my journey has not been easy. Breaking stereotypes in the culinary field, especially as someone who doesn't fit the traditional baker mold, is an ongoing challenge. But I remain steadfast in my determination.

Today, with the unwavering support and encouragement of my husband Ryan, I am once again pursuing my dreams. Our children are now in grade school, and the time feels right to reignite the fire within me. However, the road to success is not without obstacles, especially when financial resources are scarce.

I want to express my deepest gratitude for taking the time to read my story. Your support means the world to me, as it helps me inch closer to transforming my distant dream into a tangible reality. I refuse to give up on creating something I can be truly proud of, something that I can pass on to my children should they choose to follow in my footsteps. MY VISION

The vision for my business, Indulgence By Rachael, goes beyond being a personal chef. It is about redefining and modernizing the dining experience to be more balanced, ingredient-forward, and luxurious for everyone to enjoy. I strongly believe in bringing the human experience full circle and fostering a sense of community through the connection of food.

One of the cornerstones of my business is taking advantage of the farm-to-table approach. Years of research, exploration during my travels, and kitchen experiences have led me to develop a deep appreciation for sourcing ingredients locally, supporting small businesses and farms within our own community. The bounty of each season inspires me to create, cook, taste, and test dishes that truly highlight the flavors of the present moment.

Employing a blend of old techniques and modern gastronomic innovation, I aim to allow each ingredient to stand boldly on the plate, intensified by its own flavors. Through innovative thought and a passion for the craft, I aim to create an elevated dining experience that showcases the beauty of each ingredient and leaves a lasting impression.

In addition to providing personalized chef services in clients' homes, my business will have the capacity to cater to larger events. I will also offer meal prepping services and retail products, allowing individuals to bring a taste of Indulgence By Rachael into their own homes. Since I won't have a traditional restaurant, I plan to offer private ticketed "supper club" type chef tastings each season. These events will serve as an opportunity to test out local ingredients, introduce new recipes to the public, and explore exciting culinary techniques.

Ultimately, my vision for Indulgence By Rachael is to create a culinary experience that transcends the boundaries of a traditional chef-client relationship. I want to bring people together, encourage balance in their lives, and celebrate the art of food in a way that is both indulgent and accessible to all.

OUR MISSION PURPOSE 

At Indulgence By Rachael, LLC, our mission is to passionately and wholeheartedly strive for success as a sustainable hospitality business. Through great strength and unwavering dedication, we aim to create extraordinary culinary experiences that delight our clients while giving back to the community and respecting the integrity of our local history. We are committed to fostering a sense of connection and neighborly support, ensuring that every interaction reflects our deep appreciation for both our patrons and the rich heritage of our community.

GOAL FUNDING BREAKDOWN 

In order to pursue further and to bring Indulgence By Rachael to opening a physical location my fundraising goal is crucial to bringing Indulgence By Rachael to life.

To get a better idea of what I need to make this possible, please see below.

$100,000 is required to secure a physical location that is suitable for the space that I need for my vision. Buying property is essential, as it will greatly improve the value of my business. 

$75,000 will be required for the kitchen build-out and equipment to properly pass health inspections. 

$15,000 for pre-opening and opening inventory. 

$25,000 additional funds for marketing, permits, legal and professional services, as well as any small renovations to the building.

It showcases the passion and skill that goes into every creation, allowing guests to witness the intensity and dedication we bring to our craft. We believe that this interactive experience adds an extra layer of enjoyment and appreciation for the food we serve.

Our menus at Indulgence by Rachael are constantly evolving and rotating, influenced by seasonal ingredients and our commitment to using locally-sourced produce. While we pay homage to the flavors and traditions of local cuisine, we also draw inspiration from regional and international gastronomy. This fusion creates a dynamic and diverse culinary offering that celebrates the best of both local and global flavors, all while utilizing the bounty of our community.

Through our open kitchen concept, we aim to create a harmonious blend of visual, olfactory, and gustatory sensations. We want our guests to feel engaged, connected, and delighted as they witness the artistry of food preparation and indulge in an extraordinary dining experience that goes beyond just eating.
